ABI Research released a report last week that found companies that use cloud computing for their email services save substantially compared to those using on-premise email. The report, which aggregated information from a series of other reports on the value of cloud computing, also noted that security is more reliable with cloud computing. Organizations that use cloud computing reported 47 percent less spam than those that use an on-premise service. Lower spam totals diminish the risk of malware infections and other security breaches. There was also half as much downtime related to updates of security software and installations for those that use cloud computing.
