The Semiconductor Industry Association reported vibrant worldwide chip sales in October, up 5% from September, better than twice the normal seasonal gain. Because the chip industry has already recorded significant month-to-month gains since the spring, a further gain of this magnitude is quite something and points to a solid worldwide market for electronics.
