Dell’Oro Group expects 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) switches will be a major driver for the overall Ethernet Switch market in the future, with annual revenues for the total market forecasted to approach $5 billion by 2011. A large part of 10 Gigabit Ethernet revenues will initially be driven by datacenter aggregation and then later by direct server connections, according to the Dell’Oro 5-year forecast.
