According to a study just released by the Computing Technology Industry Association, 80 percent of companies working with RFID see a shortage of RFID talent available to implement, service, and support the technology.
More than 70 percent said their customers had not yet implemented the technology, while less than 20 percent had customers presently involved in RFID adoption. Nearly 40 percent expect to offer RFID services to their customers in the next three years. Another 40 percent said they would offer RFID services if customers requested them.
A study conducted by Deloitte and Retail Systems Alert Group finds that 70 percent of retailers across the globe with revenues of $5 billion or more are involved in or are exploring RFID investments. Three-fourths of the survey respondents anticipated increased revenue from RFID in the first five years of implementation.
