IDC predicts ‘significant shifts’ in storage for 2008
IDC
“Significant shifts” are likely within the data storage industry in 2008, according to market analyst IDC.
The firm notes that with annual increases of 60 per cent in businesses’ storage needs, companies are likely to need to address their processes in a new way over the coming 12 months.
Virtual servers are suggested as one way in which the typical infrastructure will change, being described as a “killer application” for data centres operating on iSCSI disks.
